A New Workshop Series
A new series by Celeste Cole and Chelsey Cruz has been underway.
OPEN PAGES is a 4-part series exploring the ritual of reading, sharing, and discovering new stories together. Each workshop creates space to connect with fellow book lovers, give beloved books new homes, and experiment with up-cycled materials.

The smaller group sessions provided valuable opportunities for skill development and creative expression with unique twists. Stay tuned for another announcement as we run similar workshops so more people have a chance to join.
The Shelf: Curated Library by Chelsey Cruz
Our Recess library has been transformed through the thoughtful curation of two community members. Their carefully selected books, magazines, and records have created an inspiring space for discovery and contemplation.
Recess Mentorship Program:
We can’t wait to show you what’s being created in our new Recess visual mentorship program as well. Meet Martin, Eunice, Shina, Thulasi, and Charlene.
They’ve already been filming Recess event recaps and have started to work on their own personal projects. We meet bi-weekly where they get a chance to explore a visual project of their choice, dedicating 20% of time to Recess projects where they get to practice a cohesive brand visual, and dedicating another 80% of their mentorship time to their own project of choosing.
Throughout the 3 month program there’s a mix of project work, group meetings, and 1:1 sessions with Shanik to get project guidance and have any questions answered. It’s been a good start and we are excited to offer more mentorships to the community after our learnings.
